Russians Seek Relief from Heat Wave
In Moscow this week temperatures hit 95 degrees for the first time since 1981. Parts of Russia have been enduring a heat wave since late June, which Reuters reports has caused some of the worst crop failures in 130 years. It's also taking a toll on residents, most of whom do not have air conditioning: over 2,000 Russians have drowned since June 1, according to NBC. Many of the victims were trying to swim while drunk.
These videos show Muscovites taking to city fountains to escape the heat.
